Subtlety is an art, and designer Snehal Jain seems to have found her canvas in her brand Pita Nila. An amalgamation of the Sanskrit words for the colours yellow and blue, the brand stands for freshness and stability, and it shows. Snehal Jain’s roots as a textile designer from NIFT Delhi comes through in her treatment of each garment – right from using pure fabrics in dainty pastel hues to imagining the most intricate of patterns to be hand embroidered to perfection.
Through a range of staple Indian silhouettes of anarkalis, saris, lehengas and the like, in a palette largely featuring pastel favourites like powder blue, peach, periwinkle and peony, Pita Nila narrates a story that needs telling. The modern Indian woman has come a long way from the notion that Indian grandeur stems from maximalism. Pita Nila caters to this woman – one who loves her fun ombré prints as much as she appreciates exquisite zari work. We know we do!
