Lakmé Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2018 has kicked off in style. While there was a lot to love on the glamourous showcase, here is our pick of 7 trends that were going strong during the biggest fashion extravaganza in the country!
The Anti-fit Bit
Starting with Gen Next designers like Bobo Calcutta and Muhammed Mazhar, to labels like Ikai by Ragini Ahuja, anti-fit silhouettes were a popular choice.
A summer wardrobe is incomplete without florals. Delicate appliqued florals were seen in Half Full | Curve and Anita Dongre while bold, graphic prints featured in Ritu Kumar, Bobo Calcutta, and Rara Avis.
Monochromatic and subtle earthy shades were the palette of choice for designers Anita Dongre, Ikai, Urvashi Kaur and even Gen Next labels Two Point Two, Muhammed Mazhar and Padma Raj Keshri.
Designers Dhruv Kapoor, Ritu Kumar and Urvashi Kaur’s collections featured sheer fabric with inventive layering.
All the stripes
Stripes of all kinds created a major buzz in the collections of Two Point Two, Dhruv Kapoor, Ikai, and more. There were a lot of variants on display from Amrich’s monochrome to Ritu Kumar’s multi-coloured to Naushad Ali’s bold dual-toned numbers.

Metallic tones were the surprise element this season. While labels like Ritu Kumar, Half Full | Curve and Dhruv Kapoor featured metallic elements, Gen Next designer Helena Bajaj Larsen’s entire collection featured acid dye metallics.
